Does the 2019 Hyundai Accent have a timing belt or chain?

The 2019 HyundaiAccent comes equipped with a timing chain instead of a timing belt. There is not much difference between the two except for what they are made from and their location. The timing belt is on the outside of the engine and is exposed and wears down over time because of that. The timing chain is on the inside of the engine and isn't exposed to things like the belt. Because of their locations one may need to be replaced and the other doesn't need to be replaced. The belt is meant to be replaced every now and then and the chain should last for the life of the vehicle. There are situations where the chain might fail though so if it needs replaced it costs between $340 and $430 in labor costs.
