The Ford F-350 has been known to have some speed sensor problems in the past, but at this point in time there are not any active recalls for them. The speed sensor is used to give Your vehicle's ECU the information on how fast the output shaft is rotating so that it can display that information on Your dash. When the speed sensor goes bad it usually will not report an accurate speed, or may report no speed at all and that will make Your speedometer fail to work. Usually this is just a part that can fail and will need to be replaced at some point in the life of the truck. It usually costs $350 to $500 to replace.
