The Ford transit 2 2 TDCi engine is not known for any specific issues, but that does not mean it cant have problems. You should make sure to keep the oil and coolant in the car up to spec, as either one of these being ignored could lead to engine damage. Likewise, it is important to adhere o the maintenance schedule, found in the owner's manual, so that things do not wear down and begin to compound. As long as You maintain the car You should be fine, and You can easily expect to get 200,000 miles out of a well taken care of the engine. If You got the car used it may be smart to take it in for a full tune-up.

The ford transit 2.2 Tdci engine has had reports of the cylinder board wearing out. There have also been reports of oil deprivation.
