The most common problems that You will have with a Ford Transit 3.2L diesel engine are with the glow plugs, and rough idling due to issues with the fuel pump. The engine is pretty reliable in most cases, but usually it is a diesel delivery problem that will lead to it not working right. If You notice that You are mIS Firing or not getting full power then the most likely problem is with the glow plugs. These are fairly delicate components in the engine and they have been known to break. You will want to inspect them regularly to make sure that they are in good condition and free from cracks.

My 2016 transit with the 3.2 diesel motor@104000 miles just blew up. No compression in #1 cylinder and oil everywhere. Are these engines known to go so early?

On the ford transit 3.2 Diesel engine problems are fuel pump failure, not starting and rough idle.
