The Ford Transit MK8 which was made from model years 2014 to 2018 has received many complaints online. Some of those include problems with its braking system. Some say the brakes pull to the sides even when properly aligned. Other complaints include body parts rusting quicker than expected. The overall performance and reliability of the MK8 is considered average, even with the problems people put forward. With issues come a need for repairs, and this car has an estimated yearly maintenance cost of about $900. This amount is somewhere within the average range for cars overall. So on the bright side, it does not coSTSignificantly more to maintain than most other car models.

Brand new curtain transit on a 70 plate. Acceleration in lower gears is very responsive and quick off the mark as you would expect. However, acceleration on the motorway is somewhat different. I got up to speed at 70mph in 5th gear on the flat, when I went into 6th the van just slowed down dramatically to around 55mph so I had to drop down a gear and try to get back up to speed again. This didn't work even with my foot to the floor it was only very incremental. Eventually I came to a hill and in 5th gear the van started to slow right down to around 45mph... I had to select 3rd gear to even achieve a decent speed to then change up. Downhill in 5th or 6th gears at 60mph when you achieve it, it still didnt increase speed which makes me think that this brand new van has some major problems.
