Does the GMC Terrain have a timing belt or chain?

The GMC Terrain will come equipped with a timing chain as specified by the manufacturer. The timing chain is suppose to last the life of the vehicle but there can be problems that arise which are due to wear and tear or a bad timing chain tensioner. When this happens the timing chain will eventually stretch or warp causing the vehicle to run rough, hesitate or even stall. You may also notice a slapping noise when You firSTStart the engine before it being warmed up. Sometimes the timing chain tensioner can be bad which will cause the timing chain to get loose enough to fall off. All the GMC Terrain trim levels use a timing chain including the v6 and i4 motors.
