All models of Mistubishi Outlander produced after 2015 are equipped standard with a timing chain, replacing the timing belt of years gone by. This is a foward achievement, considering that the belts have to be inspected and replaced regularly. A timing chain, in comparison, is expected to last for the full lifetime of the vehicle. The chain is covered by warranty in most cases, for up to 100,000 miles or the first 10 years of ownership. If You do need to replace the chain Yourself, You can expect to pay between $140 and $249 for parts alone. It will take You around 30 minutes up to 2 hours to complete the change.
