To jumpstart a 2016 Chevy Equinox, locate the battery on both vehicles, and clip the positive (red) cable to the positive terminal on both car batteries. Take the black cable and clip it onto the negative terminal of the working vehicle, and onto a metal surface of the non-working car. Make sure the surface You choose isnt painted. Also, take care not to accidentally mix up the positive and negative cables. Start the car that works, let it run for about 3-5 minutes while it is connected to the dead car. Try to start the dead vehicle. If it doesnt work, check to make sure all the cables are attached properly, wait a few minutes then try it again.

Connect one end of the positive jumper cable to the positive terminal on the car's battery which provides the leap. Attach the other end of the positive jumper cable to your equinox positive terminal. Start the other vehicle and let the other battery get some charge before trying to start the equinox.
