Starting with the 2011 model year, the Chevy Equinox requires a TPMS relearn tool to reset the system. Begin by turning the key in the ignition to the ON position, but don't start the engine. Press the menu button in the controls in the center dash beneath the display. VEHICLE INFORMATION should pop up on the display. Scroll to find TIRE PRESSURE. Press the SET/CLR button and hold it until the horn beeps twice. Starting at the front left tire, place the relearn tool near the valve stem of the tire. It should be pressing against the tire's sidewall. Activate the sensor by pressing the button. When it's done, move to the right front tire, followed by the rear front tire. Lastly, finish with the rear left tire, so You're moving in a clockwise position around the vehicle. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to make sure the reset has been completed and saved.

Here are the instructions to perform a factory reset on the 2011 Chevy equinox tpms. Switch the ignition key to the "on," or second, location on the ignition but don't crank the engine. Press and hold the reset button on the instrument panel before blinking begins with the tpms light and then exits.
