The oil change light on Your 2012 Nisssan Sentra needs to be reset after every oil change so that the system can determine when the next oil change is due. If You don't reset the light, You will find that Your vehicle will indicate that You need another oil change sooner than would be necessary. The procedure only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Press the Display button until it shows the Odometer. Now, turn the power off and back on again while pressing and holding down the Trip Meter reset button. You will now see that the oil has been reset. You have completed the procedure and You can turn Your ignition off.
