If You have recently changed the brake pads on Your 2016 BMW X1 and want to reset the light it is a pretty easy thing to do. First put the vehicle in the on position without starting the engine. Next make sure the time is shown on the instrument cluster screen. After that press and hold the odometer reset button for five seconds until You see an orange triangle, then continue to hold until You see a circle with an exclamation mark at the front or rear of the vehicle. When You see the front or rear symbol release the ODO button then hold it down again until You see RESET Below the brake pad symbol.

To reset the brake pad light in your 2016 bmw x1 vehicle, disconnect the positive battery cable and depress the brake pedal for several seconds and then reconnect to reset the brake pad light. Check wheel sensors as well.
