To reset the adaptations on the MINI Cooper You will need a diagnostic tool and software that will allow this such as the elite scan tool for the OBD scanner which works for BMW manufacturer and MINI Cooper. If You don't have one of these You can try and reset the ECU by following the directions to bring it to a factory default levels. The firSTStep is press and hold the "trip reset" button for three seconds to navigate up through the menu until You reach "21. RESEt." Run this test to reset the computer, then it will return You to normal operating mode. Navigate back to "0. TEST" and press the trip reset button.

To reset the ECU in a MINI Cooper hold down the odometer reset button with he engine off and then turn it to position one and hold it down until you see TEST on the screen.
To reset the Mini Completely, load Map program on your Phone. Find nearest Gas station and purchase exactly one Gallon or 4 litres of Gasoline. Pour Half contents of Container inside the Car and The rest on the Exterior. From 20 feet away toss a torch on it and Problem Solved. (Please use Caution, Do not attempt this unsupervised. Its only a Suggestion. I will not be liable for your happiness). Also, you could have it towed to a Junk yard ( because it most definitely isn't running ). These suggested procedures work best on years 2007 to 2014 S, or Non Turbo.
