If the anti-theft system has been activated in Your 2008 Ford F-350, You'll need to reset it to be able to start the vehicle. Begin by turning the key in the ignition to ON, but don't start the engine. When the display is illuminated, the anti-theft light will likely be blinking, but it might just be on and solid, as well. Allow the key to stay in this ON position while keeping the doors closed for 10 minutes. At this point, the light might go off. If it doesn't, turn the ignition back to off, and start the process again. Sometimes, these steps may need to be repeated three times. You will not be able to start the engine during the resetting process. If You are still having problems, it will need a service appointment at a dealership.

The pats system in some ford f-350 models can be reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for an hour.

I’ve had occasional trouble with my ‘08 F350 over the years, when I would try to start it and only thing on instrument cluster was the seat belt light. The trouble would invariably be a weak battery(ies). This truck likes batteries. This episode was different, and ended up with truck down over a month. I checked voltage on both batteries with multi instrument and both were showing 12.5 volts or better, not great but not sure they were bad either. Ended up replacing lowest reading of two anyway, remembering past experience. Read Tech suggestions, comments I could find, watched UTube videos, shook wires on fuse boxes, checked fuses, left truck in sun with hood up, engine fuse box lid off to dry. Nothing worked, like numerous other Ford owners had reported. I finally came across Michelle T. Dec. 14,2020 answer, tried it and it WORKED. Thank You. One modification I made was I rolled the driver’s window down prior to beginning process, so I could reach in and turn key off at end of 10 min session, without opening the door. Recall that had only the seatbelt symbol on a black screen to start. During first 10 minute session various symbols on cluster would appear on green background then disappear. I turned key off then back on and began 2nd 10 min. Session. At end of 2nd segment entire cluster was back and I had heard fuel linkage reset. I started truck and so far so good. As a last comment,I had replaced the 2nd battery with new one and had charged both new batteries before beginning Michelle’s procedure. I’ve read several posts by on the ropes Ford owners that begging that successful attempts be posted. Here’s one
