To reset the BMW e39 radio, watch: https://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=8qTWDtwmINs You will come into issues with the sound. The source could be from the stereo's speakers or a phone that is connected to the vehicle. Whatever the source, You will have to have these issues solved quickly. If the problems are from the stereo's speakers, it could be static sounds, randomly turns off, a loose wire, or a blown fuse. If the problems are coming from the phone, it could be that the software won't update, the device will not sync with the vehicle, the phone's battery is almost dead, or an object is blocking the signal.

To reset the BMW e39 radio, you open the hood and test the battery connection. Tighten the positive cable retaining nut and then the negative cable retaining nut. Place the key in the ignition and switch the ignition to the "II" position. Switch the control button on the set. The words "Letter" will show on the BMW radio panel. Enter the code given to you by your BMW dealer using the numbers on the radio header. If you do not have the code, you will need to contact the dealership where you bought the car to request the radio code for your particular BMW.
