There is no simple process to reset the gas cap light on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. You're going to need to take care of the problem that is causing it first. Go ahead and exit the vehicle and inspect Your gas cap and make sure that it is tight and doesn't have any cracks. Now go back in the vehicle and turn it off and on again. This should reset it if that was the problem. If You're struggling to find the issue You're going to need to either take Your vehicle in to a shop or use a scanner tool. Using a scanner tool You'll also be able to make the light go away if You think the problem is fixed.

To reset the gas cap light in your Jeep Grand Cherokee, turn the vehicle off and replace or tighten your gas cap and then reset the warning light using an OBD-II scanner plugged into the port beneath your steering column.

It's possible the problem causing the light is not your gas cap, but your evaporative system integrity module (ESIM). Fairly easy to replace. Just annoying that this is a common problem.
