If Your maintenance light comes on in Your Toyota Tacoma, You need to change the oil, and use synthetic SAE 0W-20. If You've already done so and need to reset the maintenance light, here's the procedure. Turn Your ignition on, but don't turn the engine on. Verify the odometer displays the miles, not the trip meter. If so, turn the vehicle back off, and then push in the trip meter reset button. While holding it, turn Your Toyota back on (Again, not starting the engine). Watch the odometer as You do this, and while You're still holding the trip meter reset button, You should see the odometer start to display a series of dashes on the screen. Those will turn to 0s. When those disappear and You see the normal odometer numbers on Your screen, You can release the reset button. At this point, the maintenance button should be gone, and You shouldn't see it again until You've driven another 5k miles.

The rest oil light indicates that an oil change is required. To reset the light, turn ignition to on position without starting the engine. Press odometer to trip a, turn ignition off, press and hold trip odometer reset button.

Your oil change reset is in your multi display screen in your dash 10k oil change factory recommended on 16 and newer Tacoma's rotation is every 5k. All info is in your maintenance manual and also online
