The 2003 Jeep Wrangler useS6 quarts of SAE 10W-30 oil when You do a change with the 4.0L 6 cylinder. Jeep recommends using synthetic oil any time that You change it. There are two types of oil that are common on the market these days, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic gives You better protection for Your engine and a longer wear life compared to the conventional petroleum based options. This means You should only need to change synthetic every 7,500 miles compared to every 3,500 miles with conventional. You should check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is free from debris and properly filled. This can help protect Your engine for a longer time.

6 quarts for the 4.0L, 4 quarts for the 2.4L. The 4.0L 6 cylinder is a well regarded engine.
