Normally, You shouldn't be messing with Your air suspension on the BMW X5. It's supposed to be self-leveling, and the height sensors primary function is to provide the control module with information so that the ride height at the rear axle is correct when You've got lighter or heavier loads. That said, You have three options here. You can manually lower or raise the air suspension via a toggle lever on the center console; there's additionally a button on the trunk's bottom door that can be used to lower the suspension all the way down. Finally, You can select Sport Mode, and that'll lower it one level down as well. Note that if You get up to speeds over around 80, the suspension will also automatically lower one level.
