To disable the Subaru High Beam Assist, You have to turn off the automatic lights, which is accomplished by takeng the light control switch out of the AUTO position. If You see a yellow high beam assist warning indicator, this indicates there's been a malfunction with the system. If You want to lower the sensitivity of the high beam assist function, You can do the following: Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and then press and hold the automatic dimming on/off for about 20 seconds. When You turn the light control switch to the " " position, the headlight mode will be changed to the high beam, and the high beam assist function will be turned off.
