If You are having a steering assist fault on the Ford Focus then You have a few options. The simplest one is that You need new front tires. This will cost You about 60 to 70 dollars per tire, plus the install and balancing fees. However, if this is not the cause then You have the much worse scenario of needing to replace or repair the rack and pinion system of the car. Repairing the pinion seals is tedious and hard, and it is often recommended that You simply replace the full unit. That said this is an expert level job, so You really should take it into a shop. Expect to pay around 800 for the repair as well.

You will need to look on the console and follow the instructions with the wheel to fix this issue.
