To remove the second row seating of the Toyota Highlander, locate the bolts securing each front seat leg to the floor. Remove their plastic protectors and the bolts with a 9/16" wrench. Place the fasteners in a safe location. Fold the seats forward and repeat the previous steps to remove the rear leg bolts with a 14mm socket wrench. Next pop off the plastic frames covering the sliding seat rails. Once all fasteners have been disconnected, push the front driver and passenger seats forward to make room for removal of the rear seating. Lift each seat's side upward and stand on end. Pull out from either side of the vehicle to completely disengage. Replace floor fasteners to prevent loss. Some owners place sound-dampening blankets on the carpeting to reduce road noise, once the seats have been removed.
