The Ford Focus, like all combustion driven vehicles, requires a battery to get things started. Most days this process happens without any issue but sooner or later we all have to deal with a dead battery. Whether You left the lights on or the battery just can't do its job anymore, You will need to jump start it to get the vehicle moving. To do this You are going to need a set of jumper cables and a second vehicle. With the vehicles close enough for the cables to reach, take the red positive clamp of the jumper cables and connect it to the red terminal on the good battery, then connect the other red clamp to the red terminal on the dead battery. Do the same for the black clamps only connect them to the negative terminals of each battery. Once that is done You will need to start the good vehicle and let it run for a minute or two and then start the car with the dead battery. Once the car starts, remove the jumper cables in the opposite order they were installed starting with the negative terminal of the dead battery.

Hook up the negative terminals and then the positive terminals to either a battery charger or another vehicle. Run the car/battery until the engine starts.
