How to open BMW X6 hood?

To open the hood on Your BMW X6, You'll need to have access to the driver's side of the vehicle. If You're unable to open the door, please see the other questions here on how to properly unlock it and open it. Once You've obtained access to the driver's seat, You'll need to look below the steering wheel, along the dash area, for a lever that has a pictograph of an open hood. Go ahead and firmly grasp that lever, and gently pull it towards You. You should hearing a clicking sound from the engine hood, and see it pop up just a little bit. Walk around to the front of Your X6 now, and slide Your hand in the gap between the grill and the hood; You'll feel a little release latch almost dead center of the engine hood. Go ahead and flick that with Your finger, and the hood should open all the way. Make sure You use the small metal rod on the left side of the engine to prop it open, so it doesn't hit Your head and hurt You!
