To remove the factory installed rear bumper on the Ford F-250, first disconnect the positive battery cable. Remove wiring harnesses attached to the bumper, including the trailer harness and license plate light harness. They can each be released by unplugging their electrical assemblies. Move under the vehicle to locate the two main bolts securing the bumper to the frame of the truck. Remove these on both sides of the frame for a total of 4 bolts. Lastly, unbolt the two 13 mm fasteners holding the hitch to the truck. The part can now be lifted off easily. It's best to have a second pair of hands to assist with lifting the F-250's rear end off.
