You can replace the oil pump for the Ford Ranger by following these steps. First, You need to remove the container under the vehicle below the oil plug, that is situated on the passenger side of the oil pan. Next, You need to remove the drain plug. Take out the oil filter which will reveal the location of the oil pump. The pump is fixed on the engine with 4 bolts. You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, and remove the pump. Lastly, You need to fill the tube of the pump with some fresh oil and replace the oil pump with the new one. Finally, put everything that has been removed back in its place and You should be good to go. Take it out for a test drive to make sure that the replacements are working properly.
