The lane departure warning system in Your Toyota Highlander is there to alert You when Your vehicle starts to leave the lane that it is in. It is part of Toyota's suite of safety features. If You do not like the system then You can disable it. To turn off the lane departure warning You will need to press the up and down arrows on the dash and go to safety settings. From there You will need to scroll to steering assist or lane keep assist depending on Your market. From there You can press and hold the OK button until the system turns off. This will stop the vehicle from alerting You and helping You stay in Your lane.
