If You want to disable the hill start assiSTSystem in Your Ford Focus it is a pretty easy process to do. You will want to go to the menu on the dash and then go to settings. From there scroll down to driver assist, after that You can select if You want hill assist on or off. The hill start assiSTSystem will hold Your brake fortwo seconds after You release the brake and will disengage when You press on the gas pedal. This is useful for manual transmissions because it gives You time to engage the clutch and accelerate without having to worry about rolling back if You are starting on a hill.

You will need to hold the brake and continue to hold it, switch the pedals, stop on a slop, and hold the brake and switch petals again.
