If the transfer case in Your Dodge Durango is acting up and You do not need four wheel drive any time soon then You can always unplug it. This will not solve the problems that are in the transfer case, but it will make it so that You do not have to experience them daily. To unplug Your transfer case You can do it in one of two ways. The first way is You can remove the fuse for the transfer case controller from the fuse panel in the engine compartment. The second way is You can unplug the actual wiring harness that is on the transfer case and tape it up. Either one of these ways will disconnect it from Your computer.

I removed fuse 77 on '14 dodge durango limited, still have the transfer case clunking/popping noise during normal acceleration. A replacement transfer case cannot be located by any online factory replacement parts. Part Number: 52123725AD Short of removing the case and removing the chain, can I just unplug the wiring harness or should I pull the actuator and try to get it in just 2wd then unplug the harness?
