The Ford Focus ST I consider to be a sporty car. It does have some performance parts like a stronger engine, sports suspension, and better steering but it's still based on a regular car platform. A simple definition of a sports car is a small low car with a high-powered engine, and generally seats two people. Sports cars are built for pure entertainment and fun. Sports cars originally got the name because they evoked images of, or borrowed design and engineering concepts from, dedicated racing cars. The Mazda MX5, Porsche 911, and the Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman are considered sports cars.

Technically it is a sport car by its specs and speed.

Sorry ya'll, Tina doesnt know what she's talking about, but if you know anything about cars its pretty obvious. I will leave this up to the experts, Progressive Auto Insurance would probably know so here is an excerpt from an article they made for their website https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjgh6SKiZf-AhWqiO4BHUGFBHcQFnoECAkQAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.progressive.com%2Fanswers%2Finsuring-sports-exotic-cars%2F%23%3A~%3Atext%3DWhat%2520makes%2520a%2520car%2520a%2Cre%2520built%2520for%2520competitive%2520racing.&usg=AOvVaw3c143gfsuQI0f1oA8paM0g "What makes a car a sports car, for insurance purposes? Insurance companies generally consider a sports car to have high horsepower and be smaller and lighter than a standard sedan. Sports cars also often have only two seats and a soft back, and they're built for competitive racing."
