The Ford Transit Van door hinge recall has been issued by the manufacturer as it is a safety issue. The vehicles are being recalled for recalls 15S16 or 16s30 for a faulty door latch. The problem has been identified as a safety problem because the doors can open while driving. There were previous recalls for the same issue but it was believed that the doors were not properly repaired from the dealerships. There were supposed to be spring tabs that were causing the problem and they would replace them but the tabs were susceptible to cracking and failing when they got too hot. Now owners are able to take the the vehicle to the dealership and get an inspection to find out if the latches are validated or will need replacement.
