This P2227 code indicates an issue with the barometric pressure sensor on Your Ford Ranger. Either the barometric pressure sensor is providing a reading that does not correspond to the paRameters of the ECM about the atmospheric conditions, or the output of related sensors such as the throttle position sensor or manifold absolute pressure sensor does not correlate. Common problems You may experience are that the vehicle may go into limp mode. Limp mode is a fail-safe mode for the engine where the ECM will only allow the vehicle to reach a limited speed (usually less than 30 miles per hour). You may also have sluggish acceleration, rough idle, and engine hesitation.

If you are seeing a p2227 error code the barometric pressure circuit range/performance is malfunctioning. This is something you have to have get looked at by a trained professional.
