To reset the service light on the Ford Transit simply press and hold both the brake and gas pedals simultaneously until You see a message on the dash monitor that reads "service reset oil in prog." After that proceed for 20-25 seconds to click the brake and gas pedals, until the dash indicator reads, "service: full oil reset." engine start. The oil light turns off.But what is the purpose of the service light exactly and why is it so important You may be wondering. A Service light is important to diagnose shortly after it illuminates, given that the underlying issue could be mild or severe. Book a mechanic to perform a thorough inspection as soon as possible.

Switch off the ignition and check that all doors are closed. Turn the ignition key to position on without engine start. Press and hold both the brake and gas pedals simultaneously until you see a message on the dash monitor that reads "service: reset oil in prog." Proceed for 20-25 seconds to click the brake and gas pedals, until the dash indicator reads, "service: full oil reset." Engine start. The oil light turns off.

Funny, If you read the manual the service light comes on when it feels like, Oil change intervals aren't really mentioned..
