The 2014 Acura MDX had several concerns from customers that electrical parts were faulty or malfunctioning. The problems are broad and can range from dead batteries to the inoperative infotainment unit triggered by technological faults. The NHTSA has received a variety of concerns about infotainment glitches, as well as the instrument cluster being faulty or not operating properly. Vehicle owners have confirmed that the NAV system is not working and that the SUV does not have any navigation or radio capability. The navigation system still has old maps that are out of date and you cannot upgrade them and the voice control system does not work. All these issues are likely to be an issue with the ECU and the software of the vehicle not being compatible with the new updated system and software in the vehicle.

You can update the navigation system by purchasing a 2023 navigation update on cd. It took me almost 12hours over multiple days to install. It seems to upgrade in 'steps' where each cd added about 2 years worth. I started at navigation system 1 and now am up to 10. It's $150 for this update and I was informed there will not be anymore.
