The 2014 GMC Acadia doesn't have any manufacturer defect type problems when it comes to the steering, so the issues You're going to deal with are going to be common to most power steering systems. Some of these problems You may encounter are a very stiff steering wheel. That is, it's hard to turn in any given direction. Perhaps confusingly, You may also experience a loose steering wheel. Then, there are the noises: whining, groaning, and squealing. Some people's kids, right But nope, this is still Your wheel. The good news, though, is it's usually an easy fix to address these, by simply adding power steering fluid to the reservoir and tightening up the bolts along the shaft. Note, if that doesn't seem to fix things up, the next thing You should look at is the power steering pump, which can run as high as $1,200 to get replaced, with parts and labor!.

Ours steering is difficult to turn. But there is no whining and groaning sounds. We had it in to the shop. They said they flushed the system. But the steering issues are still there.

If the 2014 gmc acadia is having issues with the power steering pump then you will get whining noises when you turn the wheel, and it will be hard to turn the wheel.
