The most common BMW 530e charging problems are usually caused by a failure to the actual charging system. Your vehicle uses a high voltage battery system to drive electric motors and the batteries can either be charged using the internal combustion engine, or an external charger. There are computers in the vehicle that regulate and control all of the charging and when these have a fault or detect an error they will usually prevent charging to prevent damage to the batteries or motors. When this happens You will need to take the vehicle to a dealer to have them diagnose and reset the system. Hybrid vehicles are good for the environment, but they are slightly more complex than just a standard internal combustion engine.
