The radio in the Hyundai Veracruz is like radios in most vehicles, it runs off the electrical system which gets power from the battery that goes through a fuse panel to the ECM and then finally to the display. What this means is that there are plenty of places for something to go wrong and even if it is something simple it may stop you from being able to use it. The first thing you want to check is that the radio is actually turned on, which seems obvious but it happens more than you might think. After that you need to check the radio fuse which is located in the internal fuse panel, check the manual for its exact location. If the fuse is good you have to start looking at the unit itself which means removing the radio and testing it. If the radio is shot, you will need to replace it with a new one.

My radio and navigation volume has not been working for nearly 10 years in my 2008 Veracruz. Although about twice a year it will randomly work a year it at start up, however if I turn the car off and then restart it goes back to not working. Dealer could not figure out why and said a new radio is needed.
