The Mitsubishi Outlander immobilizer can cause several issues with the car. The most common is the locks on the doors will not function right. They may either lock or unlock on their own, or they won't stay locked even if the lock is in the correct position. They may also rapidly fire back and forth, making it really annoying. The engine may also fail to start as well, either by turning the key or by using the key fob. Lastly You may also notice that the ignition key simply won't turn at all. The immobilizer can cost about 200 to replace, and another 100 for the labor of putting it in.
