What are some of the Nissan nv2500 transmission problems?

The most common problem with the Nissan NV2500 series transmission has to do with delayed shifting between gears. It has been reported that when there is a problem with the transmission control module in the van it may hold gears to above 4,000 RPMs since it is unsure when it should shift. This can lead to a rough shifting between gears as well. This usually is a computer problem, but if You have excessive noise as well then that could indicate that there is a mechanical problem too. Usually if You think You have a damaged gear You should check the fluid to make sure that there are not any signs of debris floating in it that could indicate a damaged gear.
