Subaru Foresters don't have any climate control problems that are specific to them as A-Class, but do share the common problems all vehicles have when it comes to this. Often, the knobs or buttons that engage the climate controls will become worn and break, necessitating replacement of them. Additionally, the fuse that controls the blowers can blow, which will also require replacement. There are big failings, too, with the A/C compressor dying, but that's not something you'll expect as much as the coolant running low: because refrigerant commonly leaks over time, you'll likely need to get an air conditioning recharge at some point, which puts more freon in. This typically costs about $155 in labor, so if you're inclined, buying the freon and putting it in yourself is a good coSTSaving measure.

The hvac control system going dead, or the fan not recirculating are climate control problems in the 2017 subaru forester.

The 2020 Forester Blower Motor seems to have frequent failures. Ours was bad right off the lot. We took it in and they replaced the blower motor under warranty. However, now the replaced blower motor started having the exact same issues 6 months later. It is now hardly working as it is an intermittent issue. The car is now out of warranty (barely 2 years old), and they want us to replace the motor at our cost again. Given that the part was bad when new, and again after 6 months of replacing the unit, there seems to be a general OEM part issue.
