A typical issue with power windows in all vehicles is that the window drive motor can eventually fail; this isn't specific to the Subaru Legacy. However, thiS-Class of vehicle does seem to suffer from its lock switch module failing more than some others. Also, some drivers have found that the power windows lose their auto up/down functionality. If You encounter this problem, here's a procedure You can try to remedy it: Close the driver's door, and place Your key in the ignition, switching it to the ON position. Now, open the driver's side window halfway by pushing down the power window switch. Finally, pull up on the power window switch until the window closes completely, but keep pulling up on the switch for about 5 more seconds after it has. This should address the automatic down/up issue.

The subaru legacy power window problems have resulted in failure in most vehicles which are linked to the window lock switch module failing, and a power connection issue with the window door lock actuator.
