The main problems with the VW Touareg door locks are usually caused by electronic or physical problems. There are door lock actuators that control the locks, and a computer that works to activate and deactivate those actuators. The most common problem that You will encounter is a fault with one of the door lock actuators. This will make it so that Your door locks do not lock or unlock when You press the button. Another problem could be with the body control module. This controls the door lock actuators and also works with the alarm. When there is a fault with this then the doors will not lock and unlock as they should.

The vw touareg door lock problem has been reported as a door lock control module failure that needs to be replaced or the rear door lock actuator failure.

I've recently bought a 2007 v6 touareg and since buying it we've had alot of really cold weather. When I unlock the vehicle from the fob, all doors unlock except for rear passenger side. No amount of locking/unlocking from either fob or door handle will get that door to open. This problem first occured on Os rear door where it would unlock but when you closed the door it would just bounce back at you, this problem seems to have stopped for whatever reason. However I have another issue where when you lock the vehicle all locks activate, except for the OS rear door which will only open by pulling the handle. Could this be the actuators playing up in the cold weather as once vehicle is warmed up all door lock and unlock. Or could this be the control module or even both failure simultaneously. Please help...lol
