The VW Toureg V10 TDI have had many problems reported by customers. The 2005 model has some of the highest complaint levels most of which were regarding the electrical system, airbags, and fuel system. Premature failure of the drive shaft bearing support has also been a common problem. There was a recall in September of 2017 regarding the fuel filter flange which was apparently prone to cracking thus posing a fire risk. This same issue was present in many other models. A 2004 recall was issued due to child restraints not properly working which meant potential injuries and/or death in the event of a crash. Another recall was issued in 2009 due to cracking struts on the roof edge spoiler leading to detachment.

I purchased a set of what they called triple square sockets which a 12 point socket for the rest of the world, all my metric wrenches fit I was able to do most of the repairs including drive shaft and steering rack except when my alternator went in the middle of winter I took it to the dealer by the time I got the car back they had to get parts from all over the world because there was an upgrade to alternator and my glow plug harness was cracked all this was under the intake manifold. It was a $4000.00 bill I just about crapped!!! After I sold it the car caught on fire 3 months and burned to the ground.
