The 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel transmission problems are noisy transmission and hard shifts. The transmission is one of the most important parts of the vehicle. You will come into problems at some point. Hard shifts may arise and that is no good. There could be jerking. The gears can become stuck. You might experience shudders. Delayed shifts will cause acceleration issues. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be fixed quickly. The transmission might slip. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache.

2014 Cruze uses an Asin-Warner transmission because GM didn't have a strong enough transmission that was small enough for the vehicle. This transmission is known to have hard shifts but is overall reliable and used in many european cars. Aisin-Warner AF40-6 or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AWTF-80_SC

A common transmission issue with 2014 chevrolet cruze is an occasional hard 1-2 change which is often accompanied by engine bogging. This can may be caused by the torque converter clutch that was applied during the shift.
