The most common problem with the immobilizer in a Honda Civic is that it does not disengage when it is supposed to. Usually this happens when the body control module has a software problem that prevents it from turning off. If the immobilizer in Your Civic is not turning off the first thing You should do is try to reset it. To reset it You will need to press and hold the panic button on Your key fob. After that You should press the lock button, then the unlock button. If You have repeated problems with the immobilizer I recommend letting Honda take a look at the body control module to see if there are any serious problems with it.

This is an anti theft system that comes with the honda civic. The number one issue is that it can be triggered when it should not and the car will not drive until it is turned off.
