A P0705 OBD-II diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on Your 2011 Ford F-150 means Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) Circuit Malfunction. This code is thrown when the TRS has sent a value to the ECM that can't possibly be correct. The TRS tells the computer what the position of the shift lever is, so if it sends an input that's not possible, such as if Your truck's going 75 mph, yet the TRS says it's in park, this code can be triggered. Likewise, if the TRS says the vehicle is in more than one gear at the same time, or other scenarios. Like most DTCs, there could be a fault with the ECM or problems unrelated to the TRS itself, such as a misadjusted shift linkage or d***y transmission fluid. You'll need to narrow down any related symptoms happening in tandem with this DTC to troubleshoot it further.
