The engine coolant temperature sensor on a Chevy Cruze is located in the coolant flange to the left of the cylinder head. A coolant temperature sensor (CTS) (also known as an ECT sensor or ECTS (engine coolant temperature sensor) is used to measure the temperature of the coolant/antifreeze mix in the cooling system, indicating how much heat the engine is giving off.
