As of 2020, there is not a recall for the temperature sensor on the Chevy Cruze. This sensor is in charge of making sure the vehicle is running at the correct temps and adjusting the flow of coolant as needed. If the sensor is not working then You run the risk of overheating the vehicle. Overheating in the short term will make it so that the car is not able to drive, and in the long run, may warp the head gasket. This is never less than several thousand dollars to fix, so You want to avoid this. A temp sensor will cost You about 80 dollars, plus another 120 for the shop to put it on, but it is better to do it now and not risk damage.
