In general the oil change interval in Your Ford Ranger with the 3.2L is dependent on the oil that You use. If You are using conventional oil You will need to change it every 3,500 to 5,000 miles. If You choose synthetic oil then You should be good for at least 7,500 miles between changes. Ford recommends that You use synthetic oil because it will give You greater wear protection on the moving components in Your car. I recommend that You check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is in good condition. You will want to check the fill level as well as the color and condition. If You notice burnt oil, or debris in the oil then You will need to change it to prevent damage to Your engine.

I can't understand this. Ford's service book recommends 20k oil change interval on the 3.2
