If You need to remove the clutch safety switch from Your Ford Ranger then You will need screwdrivers and sockets to get to it. The clutch safety switch is located at the upper end of the clutch pedal in the driver's footwell area. This switch is there to prevent You from starting Your truck while it is in gear. Starting Your truck in gear can cause damage to Your clutch plates as well as Your transmission so that should be avoided. If it is failing though You will need to remove it and replace it. You can simply disconnect it from the firewall where it is bolted to and remove the wiring harness from it. After that You can reinstall a new one.
