Removing the center console from a Ford Taurus can be a tricky thing to do and may take some time. If You want to remove the center console easiest then the first thing You will need to do is remove the front seats. Once the seats are out You can start unclipping the panels that go down the center console. These will reveal screws that hold the center console frame to the floor of the car. You will need to unscrew those to remove that frame. You will also need to remove Your shift knob, and the boot from the gear selector to allow You to fully remove it from the car. Once this is removed You will have access to all the linkage for Your transmission.
